thanks to the new stationary particulate matter meter, they can identify and measure hazardous levels of particulate matter (PM2.5). The driving voltage is displayed symbolically in colors (green, yellow, red) on the LCD display.
The device is suitable for stationary use.
Fine dust measurement:
The fine dust consists of a complex mixture. A distinction is made between PM10 with a maximum diameter of 10 micrometers (µm) and PM2.5 whose diameter is smaller than 2.5µm.
Most of the time, particulate matter is generated by human activity, but it can also be of natural origin, for example as a result of soil erosion.
Primary particulate matter is generated by emissions from motor vehicles, power and district heating plants, furnaces and heaters in residential buildings, metal and steel production, or the handling of bulk materials. Another important source is agriculture.
it has been known for years that fine dust can cause serious health problems. PM10 can penetrate the nasal cavities in humans, PM2.5 up to the bronchi and alveoli. Depending on the size and penetration depth of the particles, the health effects are different. The effects include the intensification of allergy symptoms, the increase of asthmatic attacks, respiratory symptoms, middle ear infections and lung cancer caused by cigarette smoke.
